Chiba Touring

Today was a day off, so I drove around chiba for the afternoon. No special reason just to get out of the house.
Nice small roads I enjoy. So I went the winding way.
I found a nice spot for some pics. I stopped and snapped a few.

Then I got back on the road and soon got well and truely lost. But I had fun on the tiny tiny roads. I found this red one which made for some nice contrast.
A few spots of rain saw the top up for aout 5 mins near the mountains.
Then on the way home I found this deserted garage. It was perfect to shoot some nice pics with great lighting. I enjoyed my little trip.

My camera is only a Canon IXY digital 25 IS. I think it takes an awesome photo for a cmera of it's size.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't remember the settings from the last time you turn it on. Can be a pain sometimes.
I take the 10 mega pixel shots and reduce them to 550x400 then use the sharpen filter in photoshop. makes them super clean.
I don't usually adjust the contrast but these two needed a little help.
I am happy with my 5 minute photoshoot.

The car is still performing well. See you all on the road... If your in Japan that is.

New Ideas

I have been thinking about this for a while. My Fujitsubo exhaust is very quiet. So the brightening exhaust is a center exit.

Recently, I discovered the AB-Flug Splendid diffuser and it looks like a perfect fit for the original opening. I will be investigating these options in the next week or so.

I also tried the Recaro TSG and RSG seats in Tom's Roadster, I think the position of the tsg is perfect for me. But the RSG is more comfortable. So I think I will get one TSG to start with and go from there.

Ebisu Circuit 12 Hour

Ebisu circuit was host to an endurance race. 12 hours of racing is a tough ask.
Brightning entered a single car but tested two on the day prior to the main event. Their demo car is a nice piece of work.
But it remains relatively standard in engine tune. Center exit exhaust is a feature that sounds great.

Body enhancements are garage vary front dam and headlights for a nasty appearance. Cage and interior mods for race functionality are cool and work well.

The race car is actually this Silver NCEC with Mazdaspeed aero. Enkei GT-C wheels with Neova radials handle the endurance race and work well in wet and dry.

A very nice looking machine. Testing with the top down in the sun. But the race would be a very wet affair.

The race morning saw qualifying start in semi wet conditions.

Air vent for the drivers. May be a rain hose.

Levin in the background was the eventual overall race winner.

Fog descended on the circuit and stopped the race for an hour. All drivers got a bit of a rest.

Then the rain came. Many safety car laps were observed but racing continued, and so did the NC.

9am ~ 9pm in all conditions. The Brightning NC Roadster fought hard. Climbing up the ladder.

As night rolled in and 400 odd laps passed. The Roadster finished in 2nd outright. 1st in N Class. A pretty gutsy effort.

RX8 day 08 08 2008

I went to Daikoku Futo for the RX8 day. I found a nice parking spot. Similarly coloured Jaguar XJ12 Roadster. Nice tan leather interior. Pity these cars aren't reliable, they are very pretty. Other side was a nice 360.

Rx8 day this year was a reasonable size. No really stunning cars, so I looked the car park.
Found the guys from CB365 there. Their shop is around the corner from my house.

Also saw my favourite car. The RE-Amemiya Touge Monster!
Ama-san was there as you would expect. He showed up with Koseki san in the 4 rotor FD. That car sounds amazing!
This nice BEE-R Rimmed FD looked great. Subtle but effective.

Nothing quite steals the show like a tuned Murcielago.
