Advan Success

I swapped my Advan's with the CE28N from my friends race car.
They wanted to get some more grip on their prelude. The change has worked well for them.

They only run the Advans on the rear as they have wider rims up front now too.

Recently they won a 6 hour enduro... I think it was totally because of my wheels of course.

haha.

Tsukuba Super Lap

Nopro has upped the spec of their car to MZR-L5 2.5Litre with high comp pistons.

clocked a 1'04"242 on the day. Very fast for an NC. S-tyres are now fitted also.

Once settings are perfected this will be even quicker.

Running on Rays CE28NF with Direzza O3g. It's all fun.

Tsukuba 7's Day

Today I headed up to Tsukuba to check out the RX Wars at Tsukuba.

It was a great morning. Here is Suenaga laying down the first set of lines on the tracks surface.
For more head over to RE-Xtreme.

Karuizawa Meeting 2009

Karuizawa Meeting is held in the centre of Japan. Most tuners go there. Joyfast brought their Awesome white car equipped with a mix of most makers parts. Odula Front, Charge speed sides and it used to wear a NoPro Rear.

NOPRO took three cars. Soft and Hard top Yellow NC2 and their 2.3L race car.

New bumper is very Mazdaspeed.

Auto exe also had their NC2.

The side holes in the bumper are just way too big. If you saw this bumper in white. It would look terrible.

Jets were selling their usual kit.

Barchetta had their funky short tail NC with center pipe.

This Autobacs c@rs show MH1 looked pretty nice with chrome work wheels.

But this NC2 with Enkei TC-4 wheels looked very smooth. I loke this picture. The water beads look slightly patriotic for the Japanese.

Vary was at the event but no pics online yet. This is their new NC2 lip and eyeline set.

Arbic rear with IPF lights.

Some private cars.

Some with Rays.

Kin-san and friend.
I'll leave you with the Hundred-one NA Roadster with Voltex splitter.
If you haven't seen this car before... its awesome.

Odula NC @ Option 2 Enduro

I've been reading the odula blog recently and watching them prepare their Demo car for race action. The addition of Rays WTCC Motorsport 57 wheels and 255 rubber are just one part of the mods.

The intended event series is the Option2 Exeddy Cup Series. The car was looking good on the grid. Unfortunately, a brake lock up and subsequent course out resulted in minor damage to aero.
Maybe next time.

Close Up of the Odula kit.
Speed!

A bit of attitude
Damage didn't stop the beast.

R1 Grand Prix

I don't want this blog to be a review of everything that happens in Japan for the roadster. But this event caught my eye at Tsukuba TC1000.

Joyfast NC was quickest.

Superchrger!!! yum.

Double Nopro action.

3 degree temps give no feeling in tyres. just cold and slidy with tyre temps getting to 18 front and 9rear on the nopro car.
With cars not performing at best. most managed 44ish seconds where in the dry and warm would be hitting 41.

Tsukuba Roadster Videos

NOPRO (Nogami Project) NC. 2.3 Liter

Brightning NC. 2.0 Cosworth SC & NOPRO (Nogami Project) NC. 2.3 Liter

Rev Speed Super Battle.

The Rev Speed Super Battle is Japan's premier Time Attack event. Although it doesn't include any Option Magazine sponsored cars, it still has more than enough cars to fill you day.

For roadster fans Nogami Project = Nopro. Gami-san's silver NC is a real track weapon. It has a 2.3 liter engine upgrade with a straight through exhaust. It runs 255/40/17 street tyres and laps very quickly. For today hae added the straight muffler and a new splitter for extra downforce.

Brighning is Japan's cosworth supplier and their NC has recently obtained a few more mods.
It was already a mighty car with straight exhaust, ECU tune, Aim Meter pod and AP brakes.
Now it has;
1. Cosworth Supercharger,
2. Canards,
3. Front fender wind defectors,
4. Garage Vary carbon bonnet and
5. Advan RZ with 235 Neova.
On track it looks the goods but it's sooooooo quiet. You would not know this car had a Supercharger until it went past you.

Nopro's car on the other hand sounds AWESOME! It growls like a bee blowing a tuba.

Together on track they both looked awesome. But brighning were fighting traction as the track dried out.

Some more coolness under the bridge.
At the main hairpin. Minimal roll.
Both cars were running 1.06 and a few hundredths with Nopro a shade quicker. Over a full 3 seconds quicker than NR-A spec 2.0L
When the car's went out for the second session, Brigtning had removed the rear GT wing.

Still tough. Note the front window surround is Black. strange.? maybe it looks good without the hard top.

Nopro's splitter carved through the pit. But did not return from the session. I didn't have time to get final times and ask but I'll find out soon.

RevSpeed Preview

Tomorrow I'm off to Tsukuba.

Brightning and Nopro both have entered in time attack, I will watch the times of these cars and of course update with pics.

I'm not sure if the Brightning car has the cosworth Supercharger yet. I guess I'll find out.
Nopro 2.3L will be on song.

It's a bit wet today. hope it clears up.

Mazda Festa 2008

I went as a guest of a friend. To lend support and a hand when needed. My friends machine Tweety Roadster

Helping out with Shaken and stuff.

Tom entered the Emblem class instead of clubman 1. 2 levels Up. winning would be tough.

Clubman 2 still looked like fun as we started to setup. No 73 on display.

Tom was pumped and ready.

Many Roadster graphics looked cool.

Modena style stripes

Clubman 2 qualifying

This is the D-Techniques TCR2000 of Kato san. Tom's car is the same spec. but Kato is 2 seconds quicker. He has been driving around tsukuba for a long time.

Today there waas a 4 hour race also with members of the media. Some super T drivers also were "ring in"s. Orido and some others.

Emblem Class Course in.

Looked cool in the Pit.

D technique TCR 2000 twins.

What are you looking at Nao san...?

After the qualifying. Times were fast. Tom held back in the wet a little as others had spun but the track dried out and everyone just went faster.

I almost entered the Roadster class. Just a 15min time attack. R16 member Kentaro-san entered and had some fun in his modified NR-A.

Kentaro's best was a 1:13.6

On the formation lap I was allowed to ride with Tom. My first time on Tsukuba circuit itself actually. I was impressed with the camber of the course.

We followed kato san as he showed us the line. A bit straighter approach to corners in places than you think.

On the grid. R16 friends came to support us. Thanks dudes.

Warm up lap.
Always a very bust start in a one make series.

Tom enjoyed his battle with some faster runners that spun in front of him.

Of course Kato-san dominated again. He is the champion of roadster at tsukuba. 3 wins this year.

Tom, Kato and Nao. Who's wine is that Nao?

787b and a couple of race queens makes a nice picture.

RE-雨宮 Super GT 300 class car.

58 seconds from only 300hp is insane. This is fast! More pics here.

The four hour race has a le-mans style start. run to the car. only 90 litres of fuel also for 90min.

Makes all out attack impossible, managed fuel is important.
I like the livery on this car. The Martini racing logo's look cool.

My car. Next time after a few mods I will challenge the circuit. LSD, Stabiliser links and a seat please. (any sponsors?)

Big Thanks to Tom
Thanks to the guys from R16.

It was a great day.
