Wheels Again

I still really really really want 19" wheels on my car as street wheels.

I know. They are heavy and blah blah blah bad performance blah blah blah gonna rub blah blah blah. So I was going to give up as the tyre size I though I needed was unavailable.

But after a mail to Gami-san. My tyre size calculator says... It maybe possible

My car runs 205/45/17 = 616.2mm Dia /1935.2mm Circ
Nopro runs 255/40/17 = 635.8mm Dia /1996.4mm Circ
Thats +20mm Dia and +60mm Circ?

I want 19" so the Best Match
Based on My car is 205/35/19 = 626.1mm Dia / 1966.0mm Circ <- Unavailable
Based on Nopro car is 215/35/19 = 633.1mm Dia / 1987.9mm Circ <- Available

My car runs 205/45/17 = 616.2mm Dia /1935.2mm Circ
Best size is 215/35/19 = 633.1mm Dia / 1987.9mm Circ <- Available

Thats only +17mm Dia and +52mm Circ?

I can still lower the car more so the extra height is not an issue. So with tyres sorted so what to do?

Then there is the wheels.

My car runs 17"x7.5" +45 Nopro car runs 17"x8.5" +52 I guess 19x8.5 +50 with a 215 will stretch nicely. making it a bit smaller also. Probably go for these.

SSR Type-C RS Gun Mettallic = 19x8.5 +48 ~~~~9.36Kg Yikes!
Easy to clean and similar to what I have now.

Available Sizes more added here as I check.

Advan RS-D Silver 19x8.5 +45
Advan RZ GT-R Hyper Silver = 19x8.5 +45
Enkei GTC-01 Hyper Silver = 19x8.5 +42
Enkei RP-F1 Silver 19x8.0 +48 or 19x8.5 +43
G-Games NTL Shining Silver = 19x8 +50 and Cheap!
Gram Lights 57 Accellerate PRO Black = 19x8.5 +45
Racing Hart Zero1 19x8.5 +51

SSR Type F Matt Black = 19x8 +48 or 19x8.5 +42
Volk Racing RE-30 Chrome Silver = 19x8.0 +44
Volk Racing TE37 Bronze = 19x8.5 +43

Check here for me.

Been looking at Honda FD2 for fitting ideas as they should be the same size.

I'm loving these Reverse Rim chrome lip 19" items with high contrast. Now that the car has slight chrome and bare alloy in a few places. It would add a nice image.

If 18" is the decision then I keep returning to these OZ ultraleggra. There are two NC in Japan wearing 18" Oz wheels. This one has Titanium Silver and This one has Matt Graphite. Its a very tough choice If i decide to go that way.

Clean Again

Finally had time to clean the car.... Just before a big storm is rolling in.
Everything is good when it's shiny.
I don't really like the look of the RHT from this angle but from the rear it's good.

Good old Mazda Logo looks great.
And a couple more nice angles.

Sunday Mix

A small shopping trip yielded some little trinkets.

These DC shoe wrist bands do the trick of catching that fluid that may drip on the circuit from the brake fluid or power steering fluid.

DC Shoes! & Ken Block! A little Tribute

Video 1

Video 2 is awesome.Watch in HD.

So now the engine bay is definately NON-Standard.

A few of us headed up to Kazama's New RC Circuit. Here's Dino on the super smooth surface. Took a while to get used to. NO grip at all with Yokomo tyres. I had to ditch my awesome HPI wheels as the circuit is a Yokomo sponsored venue.
My Nissan GT-R's splitter was the perfect height at 0.5mm to glide directly under the track marking boards and catch. A bit hard to see it. I thought I'd have the perfect line then bang. Splitter... maybe some silver tape on the leading edge will solve that. See below for my RC car.
Cheers to Andy from Powervehicles and of course check out Kazama-Auto for the circuit.

A bit too much of this. Adam and Dino checking out the boards.

Autoexe NC2

New Autoexe front bar for the NC2 MX5 has just been released from AutoExe. It really takes a lot of the happy out of the NC2 at first glance and adds a 15 mm deeper and 30mm longer splitter to the mix. But the colour is quite deceptive. You really need to see a white or yellow one before you judge this one. How it integrates with the original pieces is hard to see.

BTW Wheels are New RAYS G7 in 18x7+42 with 215/40/18 tyres. Loads of clearance.

Daikoku.

Just the regular drive to Daikoku to meet the GT-R OC (Owners Club) guys. Did a bit of Raji Dori (radio control drift). See Below.
When I arrived I noticed another R16 Member turn up. "NC Oyaji" I love white cars and his NC is especially JDM. RS Watanabe Wheels in Black contrast well. You can get a large version here on my bucket.
Click for a new 1920x1200 Desktop.
Yokohama Bay Bridge is just before Daikoku. BTW, long exposure when driving is dangerous kiddies.

The infamous Wangan B Route Tunnels. Didn't see any screaming cars tonight. Maybe the guy in a new GT-R35 Bspec was using them though. (limited)

This is Tokyo Bay Odaiba Ferris Wheel. Different to the Kasi Park Wheel. About 5 Klms away.

Here is my Yokomo Drift Package in latest form. You can see I like Black and White contrast.

Sunday Drive - Tokyo

Photo spots around Tokyo are everywhere. Fuji TV Building makes a nice pic from the roof of aqua city in Odaiba. Easy access for low vehicles too.

The opposite direction takes the Rainbow Bridge. This would be better from 9F of Aqua City Odaiba. No fence but lighting may be tricky depending on the time of day.

The tourists view. Which city is it again. Ahh yes. New-San-Frantokyork!
On the way home I stopped by Kasai Park. It's just near my house but I never go there.

This used to be the biggest ferris wheel in the world @ 111m.

My car is right in the middle .... seee.
The view on a normal tokyo day. You know stuff is there but the haze doesn't allow a view of Fuji, Chiba Mountains, you can just make out the aqua line vent on the horizon of this pic.
Nice park.

Wheel Paint Again!

OK, The dream wheel combo has to be these Advan RS in 19" with Hyper Black finish.
While they look like heavy chrome. they are actually Hyper Black. Check them on this FD (Pic1,Pic2) .

However they are still miles away from my price range. So I was thinking of paint options again for the Gold RGII. I upped the size just to make it easier to see.

Flat Black with Body colour highlights look good.

And this Flat Black and RED look good too.

The easiest to paint is this gold highlight version but it doesn't match so well.
So I guess the last option is Gloos Black or Flat Black. DIY Easy and Cheap.

Odula NC @ Option 2 Enduro

I've been reading the odula blog recently and watching them prepare their Demo car for race action. The addition of Rays WTCC Motorsport 57 wheels and 255 rubber are just one part of the mods.

The intended event series is the Option2 Exeddy Cup Series. The car was looking good on the grid. Unfortunately, a brake lock up and subsequent course out resulted in minor damage to aero.
Maybe next time.

Russ.
Close Up of the Odula kit.
Speed!

A bit of attitude
Damage didn't stop the beast.
